Public health officials alert Iowans of measles exposure The Iowa Department of Public Health announced on April 23 that Iowans who recently visited two restaurants in the Des Moines area may have been exposed to a confirmed case of measles. |

From 1918-1919, the pandemic killed more than 500,000 people in the United and nearly 8,000 Iowans from 1918 -1920.
