Clincial Lab Technical Specialist - Diagnostic and Clinical Division
Coralville, Iowa Facility


Provide information as a component of achieving overall health for the general public by performing clinical laboratory tests for diagnosis, treatment, research, surveillance or prevention of disease. Respond to emerging public health threats, outbreaks and epidemics. Actively engage in translational research to improve testing services. Inform and educate the public health community regarding laboratory science and facilitate the sentinel laboratory system.

In accordance with CLIA regulations, an official or copy of an official, transcript will be required prior to an offer of employment. (Applicants with degrees from foreign institutions must have the transcripts evaluated by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services http://www.naces.org/ and the applicant is responsible for all costs associated with that evaluation).

FBI background check required.

Location: Coralville, IA

Modality: On-site

Schedule: M-F, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., rotating weekend work required.

Newborn Screening Administrative Services Coordinator

The State Hygienic Laboratory is seeking an Administrative Services Coordinator to support the daily operations of the Newborn Screening program administrative team. This position is also responsible for on-site processing of i9s, along with other on-boarding documentation for new-hires, for staff at this location.

Fellowship Program Specialist

The State Hygienic Laboratory (SHL) at the University of Iowa seeks a Fellowship Program Specialist. This position is responsible for the educational coordination and facilitation of fellows and interns working at the State Hygienic Laboratory. The position will coordinate outreach and training opportunities to support the academic hub at SHL. The position supports establishment and maintenance of partnerships with and among the public health laboratory (PHL) community, as well as academic, federal, state and local public health laboratory partners, associated vendors and professional laboratory organizations.

Position Status: 2 Year Specified Term

Work Schedule: M-F, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
