As a result of several confirmed cases of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (H5) in dairy herds in Iowa, the State Hygienic Lab is working with the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services and local public health departments to offer testing for the virus in individuals with a known or suspected exposure with signs and symptoms of influenza-like-illness.

Clinical Test Request Forms UpdatedPossible Courier Delay
"Amerigroup Iowa MCO" changed their name to "Wellpoint Iowa MCO" effective Jan. 1, 2024. SHL has updated their clinical test request forms to reflect this. Several changes have also been made to the Bacteriology Test Request Form. Please download the new versions of these test request forms and destroy any copies of old versions.
