ADMINISTRATION
AND FINANCE
The Division of Administration and Finance is responsible for the management of the business practices, the facilities, and the pre- and post-analytic processes related to laboratory testing. Business management for the laboratory is centralized in the Coralville laboratory facility. Staff that oversee the pre- and post- analytical processes are located in the Coralville, Ankeny and Milford laboratories.

Grants and Contracts

The Grants and Contracts section coordinates pre- and post-award administrative functions for internal (University of Iowa) and external funding sources. These external sources include state agencies, federal agencies, and various other public and private sources of funding.

State agency partners include the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, the Iowa Department of Public Health, the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals, and agencies in other states.

Federal partners include the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Food and Drug Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, Association of Public Health Laboratories and the US Department of Agriculture.

Major achievements:

  • Oversaw processing of more than 80 sponsored projects.
  • Implemented a budget tracking tool that incorporates information from several University of Iowa sections (Grant Accounting, Human Resources and Division of Sponsored Programs).
