ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE
The Division of Administration and Finance is responsible for the management of the business practices, the facilities, and the pre- and post-analytic processes related to laboratory testing. Business management for the laboratory is centralized in the Coralville laboratory facility. Staff that oversee the pre- and post- analytical processes are located in the Coralville, Ankeny and Milford laboratories.
Media / Reagent Lab
The Media/Reagent Lab in Coralville makes sterile media used primarily by the environmental microbiology and bacteriology sections. It also supplies media for the tuberculosis, mycology and serology sections; special projects; yearly workshops; outreach educational programs; and any media needs for the Center for the Advancement of Laboratory Science. Clinical laboratories throughout Iowa rely on this section for specialized media to aid in the identification of unusual infectious bacteria.	Major achievements: Produced media for more than 800 bottles of sterile water used by the Iowa DNR to test for E. coli at various Iowa beaches. Collaborated with the Environmental Microbiology section to develop a new base medium, formula and process for Legionella testing.
