The Hygienic Laboratory hums with activity on Sept. 18, 2011, as some 2,000 children and family members set off stomp rockets, drove robots, experimented with virtual science tools and played with 40 other hands-on activities as part of the first iExplore STEM fesitival. The goal was to pique student interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) as a field of study and ultimately as a career choice. iExplore STEM was co-produced by the Hygienic Lab and the Iowa Mathematics and Science Education Partnership.
