The State Hygienic Laboratory provides analytical testing services in support of numerous federal and state regulatory programs that assess ambient air quality, drinking water, wastewater, solid waste and underground storage tanks.

We provide testing services for many types of matrices including air, water (drinking, waste and surface) sediment, soil, and plant and animal tissues. We can determine the presence of analytes ranging from arsenic to zinc for metals, atrazine to zeta-cypermethrin for pesticides, and many other environmental contaminants.

The Hygienic Lab employs highly trained staff and maintains state-of-the art instrumentation. Our instrumentation includes ion chromatography-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (IC/ICP/MS) for the determination of metals such as arsenic, and metals species including arsenite, arsenate, mono- and dimethyl-arsenate, and high pressure liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS) for the determination of fungicides, pesticides, pesticide degradates, pharmaceutical compounds, hormones and many other environmental contaminants. Please contact the laboratory for assistance with any analytical determination that you may need.
